Sweetness

I just got a phone call that made my cheeks hurt from grinning.

My cell phone said "Major Sahib," but when I answered I heard a small, high-pitched voice say, "Hello?"

"Hello, Little Darlin'! It's good to hear from you!"

"Tomorrow you are coming back to school?" **

"Yes, definately, tomorrow I am coming back. Did you have fun in class today?"

"Yes," he said. Then, "Tomorrow is Valentine's Day."

"Yes, and we're going to have a party with Pre-K."

"OK."

A pause.

"I was missing you."

"Thank you, sweetie, I've been missing you too."

"Take care," he said, just like his dad does (who was no doubt standing behind him).

Aww.
